So , we are almost at the end of the first part of our trip..... tomorrow we leave for Pisa and the day after fly home..... I think I speak for both of us when I say we are ready to move on.

We decided that today that we would have a look round Viterbo so after breakfast we set off in the Corsa to find the town. At first we thought there wasn’t much to see. On our last visit, when we were looking for the supermarket, we spotted a tunnel which appeared to lead up to an area which appeared to be older and was possibly the location of the old town. Up the tunnel we went.... my heart was sinking as it looked a bloody long way to the top and I was envisioning how many steps I might have to climb to get there...... and then, shining like a beacon , I saw at the end of the tunnel..... a lift!!!!!

Bonus or what..... up we went and when the doors opened we were in the old town.... and it was deserted!!

We had a mooch around, it was not the prettiest of areas, and we both felt that there must be more to see. Finally , we started to see a few more people, the streets opened out and then, oh joy ..... shops!!! Not that I could buy anything as there is no room in our cases for fresh air let alone new clothes or other fripperies!!!!! Oh how it pained me to walk past those shops, stuffed with stylish Italian outfits..... course there would be no point in my buying winter clothes for this year as I’m not going to need anything remotely warm or woolly to keep out the cold on the second leg of our trip, which is pretty much tropical

heat all the way to April 2020!!!

So , to ease my depression, we stopped for coffee in a very attractive cafe after which we made our way back to the Corsa and then to the hotel.

We had a bit of a sort out and started packing, oh how happy I will be to have a bit of a rest from bloody packing!!! , tomorrow is our last day and we are both excited about getting home now. I am heartily sick and tired of all the clothes I brought with me, most of which I have worn by the way, and can’t wait to re-aquant myself with my wardrobe. Dinner was a bit of a mishmash as we just finished off what was left in the larder..... and Of course it was also necessary to get rid of the remaining alcohol, a task always undertaken with enthusiasm!!! I fell asleep looking forward to Pisa and the final day of our Italian adventure.
